About the Project
Pressure Points Guide is a mobile wellness application built for an acupressure practitioner in Lithuania who needed to scale beyond one-on-one consultations. The practitioner's clients valued the sessions but faced barriers: scheduling was difficult, session prices were significant for a single visit, and there was no way to practice techniques between appointments. At the same time, the practitioner was losing clients who could not commit to recurring consultation schedules. The app transforms the practitioner's expertise into on-demand guided sessions that users can access anytime, anywhere. Video-based lessons with interactive SVG-based pressure point visualizations guide users through specific therapeutic sequences based on their symptoms and goals. A subscription model makes the service accessible at a fraction of the consultation price while creating recurring revenue for the practitioner.
The Challenge
Technical challenges
Building a custom video player with SVG-based interactive overlays that display pressure point locations synchronized with the lesson timeline. The in-app subscription system needed to work reliably across iOS and Android with RevenueCat managing subscription states, trial periods, and payment processing through Apple and Google.
Product & UX challenges
Translating complex acupressure techniques from in-person demonstration to a mobile screen. Video lessons needed precise visual guidance - users had to know exactly where to apply pressure, how hard, and for how long. The challenge was making this feel intuitive and trustworthy without a practitioner in the room.
Business challenges
The practitioner was losing clients due to scheduling friction and high per-session costs. New potential clients faced a steep entry barrier - a single consultation was expensive, and there was no lower-cost way to experience the service. The business needed a digital product that could reach users beyond the local Lithuanian market while creating predictable recurring revenue.

Discovery & scope definition
Worked with the practitioner to identify which sessions and techniques would translate best to a mobile format. Scoped two offers - an MVP within budget and a full-feature version - and the client chose the MVP path to validate the concept with early users.

UX/UI design
Designed the session browsing, lesson viewing, and interactive pressure point experiences. Created the SVG overlay system that would synchronize with video playback to show exactly where users should apply pressure at each point in the guided session.

Mobile development
Built the cross-platform app with React Native and Expo, integrated Supabase for backend services, and implemented RevenueCat for subscription management with Apple and Google in-app purchases. Developed the custom video player with synchronized SVG breakpoint overlays.

Testing & store submission
Tested subscription flows on both platforms, validated video playback quality across devices, and submitted to both app stores with full compliance documentation for health-related content.
